Azalea Festival... thank you!
WOW! So I had a fabulous time in Wilmington at the Azalea Festival! Everything that defines Southern Charm was displayed throughout the festival's events. From the Garden Party to the Patron's Ball I couldn't help but smile. The hospitality of everyone who helped throughout the week was incredible. Momma Kande and all to the stylists from Beyond Basics Salon, and also Mr. & Mrs. Bell were so charming. A huge thank you to all of them! And, I couldn't imagine a better court to be a part of. From the time we all arrived 'til our parting ways on Sunday it seemed as though it was sisterhood between us all.
THANKS:
Thank you so much Wilmington for letting me be part of such a wonderful tradition. You were more than welcoming! Also, thank you to all of the charming cadets from The Citadel! You constantly kept me laughing. Thank you to the RV service which provided top-of-the-line transportation and made us all feel like true royalty. And again, thank you to Mr & Mrs Bell, "Momma" Kande, and Beyond Basics Salon. Together you all gave us an incredible week full of memories that I will cherish forever!

Sweet Sunshine... thank goodness
Oh yes! It's a beautiful day here in Boone, NC. And as we all know March Madness is in full swing. The sweet sixteen is getting ready to battle it out for that spot in Indianapolis. But, while the college boys are playing basketball, I plan on enjoying every last ray of sunshine that comes along. It's hard to believe that it was snowing here two days ago!
Tomorrow I'll be loading up my car once more to drive back to my wonderful home of Cabarrus County. I have a lot to get done between now and June, and I also have to get things together for the Azalea Festival in Wilmington! I absolutely can't wait for a change in scenery. FINALLY... a beach! And, from what I hear the Azalea Festival has some awesome things in store.
On now with some more good news, my big brother (Michael) received his acceptance letter from UGA yesterday! He's going to get his PhD! :) I knew he could do it, and I'm so very very proud of him.
Well, although my trainer would beg to differ, I do believe that some McAlister's nachos are calling my name! Peace & Blessings everyone! Let's all go soak up the sun!!! HELLO SPRING!!!

Moving on with my eyes on the Prize...

When Forest Gump said "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get," he couldn't have been more right. Life is sweet just like chocolate, but you have to take your time and enjoy it slowly... because before you know it, it's gone. I love waking up each morning never knowing what the new day will bring. Sure, I have plans and a schedule to stick to, but then again there's always that uncertainty of what could happen in the midst of everything. Not only have I had Forest Gump's infamous quote on mind, but I've also had Marilyn Monroe's, saying "Sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together." I just know that something incredible is in store for me. I've been working hard on putting my best foot forward in all that I do. I have many people who stand behind me and support me with that constant comforting smile, and of course I've had those few who have walked in and out of my life. But, there's that one that has remained time and time again... God. Call me crazy or a fool, but I'll just point out all that he's done. I consider myself to be a well accomplished college student with the world at my feet, and it's not just in my doings.
I guess the reason for all of this being said is, a short time ago I lost one of my best friends. We knew everything about each other; likes, dislikes, etc. But, as I have learned... people change even though the love may still be there. We have gone our separate ways now and I believe it is all for the betterment of ourselves. I am now able to focus on me. I have things I want to do, goals I want to reach, and dreams that I want to come true. I will make this happen... I just know it. I am ready to make a difference; in myself, my community, the world. Now, just watch me do it.

BLIZZARD of 2010!!!
For those who haven't heard, a Blizzard has hit the area of Boone, NC. This just happens to be the area in which my university is located!!! As of now there is about 14 inches of snow on the ground, and it's STILL SNOWING! Not only is the snow coming down at an amazing pace, but the wind is torturous! My friend, Becca, and I went on an adventure today through the snow covered campus and town. Tires spinning, us falling, sliding down sidewalks were just parts of our daily trip. It was fun and we had a blast, but now that I have been outside and had fun I'm ready for it to go away!!! It looks like I'm living in a snow-globe.
